Meet Our Staff

Get to know our team.

Astrid Cordero
Social Worker
Astrid holds a BSW from Lehman College. She is a lifelong resident of The Bronx and has always had a passion for working with children. Her experience along with her understanding of the importance of early childhood development drives her passion for working with families. As a community social worker, Astrid’s responsibilities consist of counseling individual families, facilitating mutual support groups, pairing families to community resources to promote self-sufficiency and empower them to reach their full potential in parenting to better support their child’s development.

Monika Estrada Guzman
Program Director
Monika holds an MSW from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work. Monika and her mom immigrated to California in 1986 from Guatemala. She graduated with a social work degree from California State University, Los Angeles in 2004. Monika’s day to day duties include overseeing our program, counseling individual families, and meeting with community partners.

Kimberly Polanco
Kimberly holds an MSW from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work. She previously attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice and obtained her BA in Forensic Psychology. Her duties include counseling individual families, facilitating groups, assisting graduating families with 3K enrollment and coordinating Health Literacy Workshops for our families. Kimberly is a long-time resident of the Washington Heights area.


Ramona Nivar
Donation Specialist
Ramona works tirelessly and joyfully to keep our Baby Boutique stocked and our family’s essential needs supplied. We couldn’t do it without her! She is a long-time Washington Heights resident and mother of three amazing children.

Alba Pillcorema
Alba immigrated from Ecuador to the United States at a young age alongside her entire family. After working for about 18 years in the fashion industry, she decided to pursue a career in the non-profit sector. Alba’s work consists in providing administrative support to the entire team. As the office manager she helps to ensure the smooth running of the office and to improve our organization procedures and day-to-day operations.

Ingrid Rodriguez
Family Coordinator
Ingrid holds a BSW from Lehman College. Her duties are welcoming families, assisting the program director and social worker with intakes and programming. She provides an environment of compassion and support to our staff and families. Ingrid is a long-time resident of Washington Heights.


Rev. Dr. Violet Lee
Senior Advisor
Violet is the Executive Program Minister of Christ Church, United Methodist, of New York City. Dr. Lee holds a BSW from Winthrop University, a MSW from Howard University and a Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary. Dr. Lee also received a Ph.D. from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education. She is a regular adjunct professor at Union and a visiting lecturer at Columbia University School of Social Work. She serves on the Ordination Council for the American Baptist Churches – Metropolitan New York and is a former member of the Board of Directors. Also, she currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for New York State Council of Churches and the Methodist Home for Nursing and Rehabilitation in New York.

Holly Fogle
Co-Executive Director
Holly graduated from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania. She was a senior partner at McKinsey & Company where she worked for 13 years. She also ran McKinsey’s New Jersey Office. She is the mother of two children. She is passionate about helping parents achieve their dreams and helping children realize their potential.

Gisselle Pardo
Co-Executive Director
Gisselle is a native New Yorker and proud daughter of immigrant parents. She earned her MSW from Fordham University and her MPH from NYU. She has practiced Social Work and Public Health locally and internationally for 20+ years. Her career has included providing mental health support to families impacted by HIV in New York, Argentina and Thailand. She was the first social work manager at Her Justice, working alongside attorneys to advocate for survivors of domestic violence. Gisselle served as the Program Director of Step Up, a positive youth development program in NYC public schools. She is an Adjunct Lecturer and Field Coordinator at NYU Silver School Of Social Work. In addition she sits on the NASW Immigration Committee and is a NYC Red Cross Disaster mental health volunteer.
