Our Model

We rely on sponsors, private donors, and foundations to cover our administrative costs (e.g., salaries, rent, heat, insurance). We cannot express how grateful we are to these donors. Their commitment serves as the bedrock for our long-term mission, our expansion plans and our ability to continue using 100% of public donations for our families.

Our model also takes advantage of the generosity of The United Methodist Church and, specifically, Christ Church Park Avenue and Christ Church Washington Heights. Churches often are empty 6 days a week during the daytime hours. Many of these churches are located in neighborhoods with tremendous need in the surrounding community – including the basic need of safe and clean space for a toddler to explore crawling or trying to take their first steps. We are on a quest to use these spaces. Our goal is to have these buildings bustling 7 days a week! Oh…. and by the way… this lets us keep our operating costs low as we are in partnership with these churches to “love our neighbors as ourselves”.

As we continue to grow and serve more babies, we need more people and businesses to fund our operating budget on a regular basis.

“Baby Brain Trust” is a membership program where donors pledge a specific amount each year to support our operating budget. It isn’t glamorous, but it is critical! Their support allows us to scale our outreach and reach more babies living in poverty.
