How we work

We work with our families from pregnancy through the child’s third birthday.

We work with our families from pregnancy through the child’s third birthday. We believe in tackling poverty neighborhood by neighborhood and empowering the mamas. Community matters- particularly when you are a new immigrant mama. Knowledge matters- particularly when you didn’t have strong role models growing up.

Books matter – particularly when you don’t have any in your home. Food matters – it is hard to learn and focus if you are hungry. We get it. We see it every day.

We have hope and so do our families.

Our Progress

We’re passionate about changing lives, one baby and one family at a time. We have 1,000 days from birth to age 3- we act with urgency. We use 100% of all donations to fund our programs and families directly. Here is our progress since we opened our doors in June 2016.

Where We Work

We believe community is critical. It provides a support network for our mothers and enables them to tap into local resources. Our first site is in Washington Heights, New York City at 4111 Broadway. This is a Hispanic immigrant community. We are housed in a church- a place they have traditionally associated as a community hub and a refuge. We have aspirations to open two additional sites in the Bronx in 2019. Both will be located in large Hispanic neighborhoods that face extreme poverty.
